5. The Sun On The Hill 野うさぎの足跡を照らす!

Biei in Hokkaido,Japan. you can see footprints of a rabbit. All are nature's tints. You can't miss the wonderful scenery of "Hokkaido". This is a photo that I consider to be “retina photo.” You may wonder why I call it that way. It is a photo that reflects exact colors that the retina of my eyes captured. The dynamic range of a person’s vision is slightly wider than that of a camera, so a (traditional) photograph cannot capture the extent of nature as seen through the human eye. For example, the forefront of a photo becomes dark when it is taken facing the sun, but human eyes can see that front area clearly. In my photo lab I try my best to remember the colors I saw with my eyes and develop photos adjusting colors so that all my work become perfect “retina photos.”

The Green Pond & First Snow,Hokkaido

The picturesque pond can be a stunning emerald green. In October last year, I captured this shot of the green pond with snow covered trees. The artificial pond was created as part of an erosion control system that was built to prevent damage to Biei in case of an eruption by nearby Mt.Tokachi. This pond is a beautiful blue usually. But, October of last year, when the first snow fell, the beautiful blue pond turned spectacularly green. All are nature's tints. What a dreamy spot for photographers.
