Cool Colors,Hokkaido

The blue pond where the first snow falls. I think that this pond is 'The Most Beautiful Pond In The World!' This blue pond is the wonderful pond which changes colors every day. Surprisingly, the blue of the water has no exact explanation, but this phenomenon is attributed to the water contained in the aluminum hydroxide, which is capable of reflecting blue color, just as it does the Earth’s atmosphere. All are nature's tints. October,Biei in Hokkaido,Japan.

2. Green Pond & First Snow 緑池と初雪

The Green Pond & First Snow,Hokkaido

The picturesque pond can be a stunning emerald green. In October last year, I captured this shot of the green pond with snow covered trees. The artificial pond was created as part of an erosion control system that was built to prevent damage to Biei in case of an eruption by nearby Mt.Tokachi. This pond is a beautiful blue usually. But, October of last year, when the first snow fell, the beautiful blue pond turned spectacularly green. All are nature's tints. What a dreamy spot for photographers.

Biei in Hokkaido,Japan. Here is an announcement regarding to the “Blue Pond” in Hokkaido Biei-cho. The light up illumination period this year has been published. It is from 1st November 2016 to 28th February 2017. Currently, due to storm caused by typhoon, "Blue Pond" is partly damaged. Furthermore, muddy water flowed into the pond that made the water became brown. "Blue Pond" is now being closed and not suitable for sightseeing. However, the restoration of "Blue Pond" is urgently being performed. The council of Biei Town is considering of holding the event "The light up illumination of Blue Pond" as scheduled. Everyone including me is looking forward to sightseeing in Blue Pond and we hope the event "The light up illumination of Blue Pond" can be carried out as planned.

The crown of the sun,Hokkaido

Biei in Hokkaido,Japan. All are nature's tints. You can't miss the wonderful scenery of "Hokkaido". This is a photo that I consider to be "retina photo." You may wonder why I call it that way. It is a photo that reflects exact colors that the retina of my eyes captured. The dynamic range of a person’s vision is slightly wider than that of a camera, so a (traditional) photograph cannot capture the extent of nature as seen through the human eye. For example, the forefront of a photo becomes dark when it is taken facing the sun, but human eyes can see that front area clearly. In my photo lab I try my best to remember the colors I saw with my eyes and develop photos adjusting colors so that all my work become perfect "retina photos."
